B.Tech (Hons) Medical Orthotist and Prosthetist

Antois is the eldest son of Gerrit. Growing up with a disabled father, he developed an innate skill set and sensitivity in assisting and treating individuals with physical challenges from a very young age. This lifelong exposure, combined with his professional training, has given him an exceptional understanding of human biomechanics. An avid fitness fanatic, Antois maintains a rigorous daily routine of jogging, cycling and weight training. His athletic background is extensive: a former canoeist who transitioned into high-performance cycling, he completed the 94.7 Cycle Challenge in an impressive 2 h 32 min and finished the gruelling 230 km Trans Baviaans race in 9 h 55 min, securing 12th place overall. This personal commitment to peak physical performance informs his clinical approach, particularly in helping patients return to active lifestyles.

He qualified as a Medical Orthotist and Prosthetist in 2013 and obtained his B.Tech degree in 2014. Since joining G Ferreira Inc. in January 2014, he has developed into a highly skilled clinician. He is also the founder of the Animal Care Division. His areas of expertise include:

  • Prosthetics: Comprehensive management of both upper and lower limb prosthetic solutions, including high-tech microprocessor knees (MPKs) and myoelectric hands and elbows.
  • Transtibial Prosthetics: Highly specialised in the management and fitting of below-knee prosthetic solutions.
  • Spinal Bracing: Back and neck braces that support the spine, ease pain, help posture, and hold the spine still while it heals.
  • Scoliosis Bracing: Spinal braces to treat scoliosis, a sideways curve of the spine, once a doctor has diagnosed it. This is specialised work, quite different from other spinal bracing.
  • Orthoses for Neuro-orthopaedic Patients: Expert prescription, manufacturing and design of advanced neurological bracing systems (AFOs, KAFOs and spinal bracing).
  • Custom Foot Orthotics: Specialised solutions for diabetic patients, geriatrics, athletes and general structural foot problems.
  • Paediatric Orthotic Foot Care: Addressing congenital and developmental foot problems in children.
  • Sports Injury Bracing: Providing stability and support for peak athletic recovery.
  • Medical Compression Stocking Therapy: Specialised treatment for vascular conditions, including varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency and post-DVT recovery.
